David Easthope

David leads Celent's Capital Markets practice. He directs the analyst team and technology research agenda across the sell side, buyside, and market infrastructure segments.

David's own research focuses on technology and operations in the capital markets sector, including digital transformation of the buy side, innovation, and the deployment of emerging technologies. Recent bespoke work involves advising financial institutions on technology strategies, vendor selection, and strategic investments. He has also advised strategic investors on technology trends and opportunities.

He has been widely referenced in the press, including Bloomberg, Financial Times, and CNBC. He is a frequent speaker at industry events (SIFMA Ops, SIBOS, ISITC, and Trade Tech) and client events in San Francisco/Silicon Valley, London, New York, and Tokyo.

Before Celent, David was a director of strategy at Charles Schwab. Prior to this role, he has held positions at Celent as an analyst focusing on technology across capital markets. He has also held analyst and research roles at Raymond James & Associates and Friedman, Billings, Ramsey.

He received his BA and MBA from Vanderbilt University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco.
